Frequently Asked Questions

What's the first step? You need to decide how you want your coin to look.
It's really simple. You probably have an idea what artwork you want, but maybe you need help on the wording and initial set-up. We maintain an extensive art department as one of the most important parts of our customer service. Using our very talented graphic artists, we can design and execute a coin that will be unique to your organization.

Decide on a design and then send (E-mail) your artwork to us:
This is an important decision. Make sure you have a basic idea and your design laid out exactly like you want it. If you're having design troubles, but know what you want, we will be happy to help once the order is placed. If you are using any symbol or design that is copyrighted, please be sure to get permission first. We assume that our customers have received proper approval for their design.

We can work with almost any imaging formats to help make your first coin project go easy and fast. Your coin design can be E-mailed to us at (delta4u@sbcglobal.net). The better your original images are, the more outstanding your coin will look. This is also critical for 3D coins.

Seven simple steps to produce your coins:
1.Choose a size from one of our three main sizes ( 1.56 ”, 1.75”, or 2”). Keep in mind that 95% of all coin orders are made in these sizes, however we do offer smaller, larger and odd shaped coins. Please call us or complete the on line quote form and we will get back to you.

2.Choose from seven different coin metals: antique silver, antique gold, antique brass, antique copper, nickel-plated, shiny gold and silver.

3.Choose special options: color, custom edges, epoxy coating, sequential numbering, sandblasting and cutouts special options.

4.Send us your artwork by E- mail. PowerPoint, JPEG, CorelDraw or Adobe is acceptable. You can also fax us at (406.333.4349) or call us toll free at (1.866.522.6467). You can E- mail your design by clicking here and attaching your image files.

5.Okay the final design: in two to four days, you will receive the final design. This shows the detail of your coin. We cannot proceed with your order until you give the okay. We take great pride in our service and commitment to you, so please look over your final design very carefully in case we missed something.

6.Wait for your coin arrival: once the order is placed, it will take approximately four to six weeks for your coins to arrive. In the mean time, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

7.Coins have arrived: Your coins will arrive carefully packaged, with each individual coin packaged in a clear colored coin holder with flap. During this time you will be pleasantly surprised to find the high degree of quality that went into each individual coin. Please tell everyone that your coins were done through DELTA Challenge Coins.

How much do coin dies cost?
Our die fees for a (2D) two dimensional coin are $195.00 for 1.56 ”, 1.75” and 2” coins. That means their $97.50 a side. Our die fees for a (3D) three dimensional coin, or special cut coin such as a bottle opener will be quoted. If you would like to use one of our factory dies, then you will only pay for one side of the die that you personalize. Our die fees for special cut coins are a little higher because of their size, unique nature and the time it will take the artist to hand make the die. If you find anyone with lower prices, please give us the opportunity to see if we can match or beat their quote.

Die fees are only charged one time per coin design, so, for a reorder all you are charged is the cost of the coin. Your die will remain the property of DELTA Challenge Coins, LLC and fall under our copyright and only be used for your reorders upon request.

Why should I use DELTA Challenge Coins?
With our military and law enforcement backgrounds and high standard of excellence in customer service, we take personal pride and interest not only in each order, but also in each individual coin. With this in mind, we also strive to make your coin more unique than the average coin, making the coin a very strong reflection of your unit.

When others view your coin, it is very important to us that the coin is a cut above the rest. Your coin is a strong reflection of our company also.

How small of a quantity can I order?
You can order as few as one, fifty, ten thousand, etc. With a small order the die fee will remain the same; however the cost of the coin will increase. Please see attached price list for pricing.

Can I have a sample made first?
Yes you can; however prior to the sample coin being made, we will need payment for creating the die before we can proceed. You will be able to see your sample coin (actual coin made from your die) as it passes our quality control department. This coin is actually the first proof coin made and will help to insure the overall design is correct and all the correct colors were used. If there isn't a rush for your coins, we highly recommend you approve your first proof coin!

Once you pay for your die fee, we will begin working on your order. When your design is finished and ready for your review, it will be sent to you with a customer ID number for review.

We can also E- mail you a factory digital picture of your sample proof. We will gladly mail you the sample coin if you like. Please keep in mind that mailing the sample coin will increase the time (approx. 2- weeks) between getting the sample to you and starting the full order.

Will I be notified when my first order has been shipped?
Yes, we will notify you via E- mail with a tracking number from USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DSL. With this tracking number, you will be able to track your shipment and know when you can expect its arrival.

How long will it take to make my coins?
A normal coin production takes between 4 to 6 weeks depending on the size and complexity of the order. The process of creating the die takes from 5 to 7 days. The manufacturing of your coins takes 15 to 25 days. Large orders and custom designed pieces can sometimes take a little longer, so placing your order in advance is strongly recommended.

Can I rush an order?
Yes, typically we can produce your coins and get them in the mail within 20 to 25 business days. When doing a rush, a sample coin is not minted, so your deadline can be met. You will be responsible for proofreading the design and giving the final approval via E- mail, before the design goes to the die maker.

Rush orders can be placed for an additional $.30 per coin. Rush orders may vary on the order, but if your deadline is close, we should be able to make it.

What if I need a coin designed?
If you don't already have a coin designed, our graphics department can create your custom coin for you. We have an extensive library of emergency services, governmental, military and non- military art on hand.

Re-ordering coins?
More than likely, your coins will be gone very quickly. Simply send us an E- mail with the quantity of coins you need, and we will place the order as soon as we receive a deposit. Remember reorders take less time than the initial order, so the wait is not nearly as long, and you do not pay the die fee a second time.

We have no minimum on reorders, however you will have to pay for shipping costs.

Payment?
We will accept Visa, MasterCard, Business checks and money orders. At the time you place your order, the die fee is due to make your die. Your sample coin will then be created and scanned for your approval. At this point please send us an E- mail confirmation, indicating you are happy with the work and approve.

Upon your approval, you can pay by credit card or mail your payment for the full order, (minus the die fee you have already paid). At this point the coins will be minted as soon as we receive your payment. Remember shipping is FREE on your initial order.
